This note discusses recent scholarly debates on how to read and interpret the text of Pylos tablet Vn 130, particularly in relationship to PY Un 267 and the PY Jn series. It examines a few key basic points of reasoning in Palaima (2014 and 2025) and Killen (2023) emphasizing evidence, methods, interpretations and underlying assumptions.
